Asus, the Taiwanese tech company, has launched the gaming smartphone ‘Asus ROG Phone 8 Series’ today, i.e., on January 9. In this series, Asus has introduced the ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro.
Both smartphones are equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The company claims that these are the world’s fastest gaming smartphones, which come with two storage options.
Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro offers storage options of (up to) 24GB+1TB and 16GB+512GB, with a starting price of ₹94,999. On the other hand, the base variant of Asus ROG Phone 8 comes with storage options of 16GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB, with a starting price of ₹91,500.
Asus ROG Phone 8 Series: Expected Specifications
Display: Both smartphones feature a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED LTPO display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and the maximum brightness is 2500 nits. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Camera: For photography, both smartphones in the ROG Phone 8 Series have a triple camera setup on the rear panel, consisting of 50MP+32MP+13MP. Additionally, a 32MP front camera is available for selfies and video calls.
RAM and Storage: The company offers different storage options for both smartphones. ROG Phone 8 comes with options of 16GB and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. Meanwhile, the top variant of ROG Phone 8 Pro offers 24GB RAM + 1TB storage and 16GB RAM + 512GB storage.
Battery and Charging: Both smartphones come with a 5500mAh battery for power backup, supporting 65W cable charging and 15W wireless charging.
Operating System: To deliver top performance in gaming, both smartphones run on the Android 14-based ROG UI operating system.
Connectivity: In terms of connectivity, both phones offer 5G, 4G, 3G, NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wifi 6, and USB Type-C port for charging.
